Implementation of Funding for Tenant-Protection Vouchers for Certain At-Risk Households in Low-Vacancy Areas

HUD announced it will be retracting Notice PIH 2012-19 “Implementation of Funding for Tenant-Protection Vouchers for Certain At-Risk Households in Low-Vacancy Areas“.

 

The retraction was in response to a request from the Senate Appropriations Committee that HUD make changes to the program to provide vouchers for maturing mortgage/expiring use agreement properties. 

 

HUD plans to release a new notice in the near future that will describe the funding process for tenant protection vouchers for certain at-risk households in low-vacancy areas, as provided for in the “Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2012” (PL 112-55).  This notice will also have a 30 day public comment period.

 

In the meantime, HUD has requested that any owners who have put together applications hold off on submitting those applications for the Notice PIH 2012-19 tenant-protection vouchers.
