NAHMA has recently been invited to share a letter intended for the House and Senate Appropriations Committees that urges the Committees leadership to increase the 302(b) allocation to the Subcommittees on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) to the highest possible level in fiscal year 2015. Every fiscal year, the Appropriations Committee receives a single 302(a) allocation for all of its programs; it then decides how to divide this funding among its 12 subcommittees by creating the 302(b) allocations.
We ask that you sign on to this letter and we also request for you identify and urge the key local or state organizations who have interests related to/supported by housing funding to sign on as well. The goal is to get both notable and unusual local partner organizations to sign onto the letter so that your states legislators will take note. Please feel free to contact NAHMA staff for more information about 302(b) allocations or this initiative.
