NAHMAnalysis on Proposed Rule to Make Rural Development's Voucher Program Permanent

A NAHMAnalysis that covers a proposed rule to give the Rural Development Voucher Program (RDVP) a permanent regulation is now available at NAHMA.org. This analysis covers the background of the program, the items addressed in the proposed rule, and NAHMA’s comments submitted to Rural Development.

Rural Development Vouchers are tenant-based rental subsidies administered by the USDA-Rural Housing Service (RHS). In 2006, the U.S. Department of Agriculture established the demonstration Rural Development Voucher Program (RDVP) and set forth the general policies and procedures for their use. The RDVP was successful in demonstration, and it will most likely continue success if current policy remains. Overall, this proposed rule has been well received by NAHMA members.
