The Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC) is kicking off the NSPIRE Get Ready Series next week in Cleveland, Ohio, on Oct. 31. What is the NSPIRE Get Ready Series?
The NSPIRE team will be hosting in-person sessions across the country to discuss and share our vision for the new physical inspection model designed to prioritize residents’ health and safety. In this session, REAC will clarify for stakeholders, residents, field offices, inspectors, and the industry how NSPIRE is aligning multiple HUD programs to one set of standards. This session will also highlight key enhancements, address policy changes, scoring, local needs and NSPIRE’s impact on HUD’s oversight and risk management capabilities, among many other topics.

Register Today: Elevated Blood Lead Levels (EBLL) & Lead Safe Housing Rule (LSHR) Amendment Training – November/December 2022
HUD’s Office of Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes (OLHCHH) is sponsoring a training series that will help participants review federal lead regulations and discuss the Lead Safe Housing Rule (LSHR) Amendment for pre-1978 housing. Presenters will provide a step-by-step explanation of how Public Housing Agencies (PHAs), grantees, and owners respond to cases of elevated blood lead levels (EBLL) in children less than six years old living in a federally assisted housing unit.
Training Objectives
Participants will learn about:
- Rules and requirements concerning lead-safe work practices
- The scope, requirements, and key definitions of the LSHR amendment for EBLL response
- Available resources
Who Should Attend?
This training is relevant for PHAs, grantees, and owners involved in:
- Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (TBRA)
- Conventional Public Housing Programs
- Project-Based Assistance (PBA)
