The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Multifamily Housing Programs awarded more than $150 million in grants through the Section 811 Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities Project Rental Assistance (PRA) program to state housing agencies and other eligible organizations. These awards will expand affordable housing opportunities nationwide for extremely low-income people with disabilities.
This investment supports the Trump Administration’s priorities to increase affordable housing supply and expand access to housing. The awards will provide funding to 21 state housing agencies to help connect eligible people with disabilities to affordable housing options through project-based rental assistance. Awardees will also partner with Medicaid and other health and human services agencies to connect residents with voluntary community-based services that support independent living.
