The White House and U.S. Department of Treasury hosted a White House Summit on Building Lasting Eviction Prevention Reform.  With reports that the Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) beginning to wind down, the Summit focused on eviction prevention strategies and efforts to build lasting reform – including using remaining American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds from ERA, State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF) assistance and by meeting equity goals. Speakers at the summit, including top Administration officials, Chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee Senator Sherrod Brown, Eviction Lab Founder Matthew Desmond,  State Supreme Court Justices and national, state, and local leaders, highlighted the most current data on the impact of ERA, and the need to build on the successes to date, including the permanent authorization of the ERA program.
